Devon is our favourite place to be, no matter the time of year.  But particularly at Valentine's Day, we find that Devon is a great place to spend time together as a couple.  The relaxed atmosphere and beautiful scenery make for an enchanting and intimate backdrop to any type of break.

But what is there to do on Valentine's Day in Devon?

Here are our top 5 ideas for a romantic break you'll never forget:

1. Cosy up in front of the fire at The Arundell Arms

We might be biased, but how inviting does that fire look?  As Devon Hampers is also based here, you could even get some of our finest produce to enjoy while you are here!  The Arundell Arms is a superb country hotel, close to the vistas of Dartmoor, and has all the country charm you'll need for a fabulous break away.

2.  Stroll along the historic Barbican and take a boat trip to Royal William Yard.

The cobbled streets and olde world charm of Plymouth's historic Barbican make for a lovely walk, and you can even visit the famous Plymouth Gin Distillery! And now Plymouth's hidden maritime jewel of Royal William Yard is open for visitors you can spend a morning meandering along the Barbican and hop on a boat to take you across to the grade I former Royal Naval victualling yard, which is now a hub for waterfront bars and restaurants with stunning views of the entrance of the River Tamar.

3.  Share a Cream Tea at Langage Farm Shop

As well as handmade Devon ice cream and yoghurts, the ingredients here come straight from Langage Farm to their own shop, it doesn't get any fresher than that!  Enjoy one of the best Devonshire Cream Tea's in Devon.  But even if you can't make it here why not let us deliver it to you in the form of our Cream Tea for Two Hamper?

4.  Really get away from it all by hiring a boat or taking a cruise at Salcombe

Salcombe is one of the most beautiful waterways in Devon.  You can really get away from it all here by hiring a boat and getting away as a couple, or why not book up for a luxurious cruise and let an experienced crew do everything for you?
